With this guiding you should be able to solve the problems. If you can’t solve them on your own, don’t worry. At the end you can compare your results with the correct solution.
Remember, the main task here is not to solve the problems, but to understand why mathematics can be helpful in situations where you wouldn’t expect mathematics to be helpful. At the same time you will see some parts of what computer scientists in Germany have to learn.
