Layered Representations for Human Activity Recognition
Part of the Seminar "Multimodal Rooms" at the University of Karlsruhe in Summerterm 2004. Talk held on July 7th, 2004.
Abstract: I introduce a scientific project done at Microsoft Research, for recognizing human activities in office environments. I go into detail about the probabilistic model which was used. I describe Hidden Markov Models (HMM), I introduce Layered Hidden Markov Models (LHMM), and I compare both by means of experiments that were conducted by Microsoft Research.
